Wishful thinking

This weekend is the Danville chicken swap!! I am really hoping, wishing, and praying that I sell LOTS of birds! I am not too sure what I am gonna do if I have to bring back home all of these darn roosters!! I want to bring in some money frpm my hobby (ok a hobby who am I kidding?.....obsession sounds more like it LOL) Anyways it would be nice to have something to show the hubby at the end of the day. I tell him all the time there is money to be made, I just need the right birds. Well, I have some birds. It would be great if they would lay some darn eggs so I can sell them. I have Blue laced red wyandottes, cuckoo marans, appenzellar spitzenhaubens, cream brabanters, golden laced wyandottes, sizzles, buff orpingtons, mille flue d'uccles and just recently got partridge penedesencas! I have other chickens but those are the ones that I am breeding. I have one other breed I would like to add and that is the Salmon Faverolle. Then the money can just start flowing in .... right? Hey it sounded good! ;) I do enjoy having them, they are so much fun to set and watch. They all have such personalities. If you are interested at all in any of these breeds let me know, I will try to help out as much as I can.

Now on to the good stuff!!!!!
This year me and the hubby decided to home school out oldest (Alexis) she is in first grade this year and will be attending the OHVA!! So far she LOVES it!!!! The other day I had her do a math lesson (our first day of school is the 25th of Aug) and I said how do you like your school work? She gave me the weirdest look and said what school work? I then told her you are doing school work!! She could not believe she was doing math work. She enjoys it so much, I am so blessed to be able to teach her from home and to add God into it all. She definitely would not be getting that at public school!!!!

And since making the leap of faith I want to be more self sufficient. I have been making my own laundry soap and fabric softener. I have been picking berries from the woods and freezing them. I love it. We had such a great summer, even if we didn't do an exotic vacation!

Well, I need to give Alexis her next lesson! I will give an update soon!!

Blessings,
Chareia :)
