Happy New Years!!!!!
Welcome 2009. That sounds so crazy. Well, tonight is New Years Eve and we are just hanging out. Lucas is playing mario cart wii, Brook is playing the guitar and Lexi is giving daddy helpful racing tips! LOL :D Things have been going great. School is wonderful Alexis is doing great, she is really excelling in some areas!!! I am totally amazed! The girls are growing like a couple of weeds. Seems like every other month I have to get them new clothes. Brook has been listening in on us at school. She can say the pledge of Allegiance and say the months, days, and the whole alphabet! Simply amazing! I think I will go ahead and home school her too. I was a bit worried about her not going to public school at all but, now I am becoming more and more convinced that this is the way to go!
So far there has been no news on the house in Glenmont. :| I was really praying that, that would be the house God had for us. I really do love the location and the property. I am just not that crazy on the house. But like I said we can move a new house in....not move a new property in. So I will continue to pray for a place. Please be praying for us too. :)
I have decided that 2009 will be the year I loss some weight.....no seriously!!! I am tired of being tired......and FAT!!! UGH! I see pics of myself and think OMGoodness, who is that?!? Oh its me. :( I want to be healthy again! I will be healthy again...in 2009. I do expect to be held accountable. ;) I am wanting to borrow Mindy's tredmill. She had offered it to me before and now that the basement is nice and dry..well why not! :D So I am making better choices and going to start working out again.
LOL Alexis just asked if it is time for the ball to drop and for us to cheers! XD She has only been asking since 3:00p.m.
Well, I am going to go do something. Not sure what. But I am going. ;) I will try and write more often. It is sad that it was Sept since the last post. I will try to do better. :) Have a wonderful New Years!!!!!
God bless,
Chareia :)

Not so happy day. :(
Sadly, on September 13th 2008. Harley was laid to rest. My heart breaks to even say it. He was and always will be my favorite chicken. He was my buddy. But his sickness was just too much for him. It makes me even more sad that he is buried here. I wanted him to be able to move with us. (If we ever move!!!) He has a nice little grave. Complete with his own rooster silhouette. I planted fuchsia cockscomb on his grave, and I have it outlined in sandstone. He is over in the side yard, right across from the side porch. I visit him often. I know it sounds silly. But, I always said he's not just a rooster, he's my pet. I wish I had never sold Rocky that weekend in August. I would still have a beautiful son of Harley's. I do still have a daughter if his. But she looks nothing like him. I thank God for the time I had with him. (Thanks, Lord)
I do have some good news, I found on the BYC a lady who lives in Wadsworth and she is giving all of her chickens away! I am taking every chicken she has. Jen wants some. Milan wants some. Aly wants some. I feel like is was a huge blessing to stumble across that deal!! We are going up this weekend to get them. There are 28 of them. She even has cuckoo marans!!! WHOOT! :D I am really happy about that.
Things are finally back to normal around here. Hurricane Ike hit Ohio with such furry! Jen was without power for like 5 days!!! Angie was without, Milana, the local schools, even Lexi's teacher in Newark was without for 7 days!!!! I am so thankful and blessed. We did not loose power at all! (Thanks God!!!) I am not sure what we would have done. Glad we did not have to find out. ;)
And finally, Alexis is doing great in school. She is way over her hours. She should have 120 by Friday. She has 126 hours and 50 mins today (Thursday)!! And we have not even begun school for the day! I am so proud of her. She is doing so great. We are in a nice routine and occasionally we will do things that are not scheduled in! That's ok, it is part of the fun of homeschooling!!! We have even taken 2 field trips! Last week we went to the exotic auction. We got to pet a 2 week old cougar! Zebras, elk, skunks, and peafowl! We seen all kinds of awesome animals. It was great!!!! Well, I need to get school started. Have a wonderful week/end!
Blessings,
Chareia :)

Can't hardly believe it has been 10 years.
Saturday was my 10 year class reunion. I can't hardly believe it! It seems like just the other day I was walking the halls of that high school. Now it is the middle school!! I just doesn't seem right, I mean I have a daugther that is almost 7 for Peet's sake! How is that even right? When did I get so darn old? The dinner went good. There was not too many people there though. Not sure why so many people did not show up. Oh well, maybe they will be there for the 15 year. I was nice seeing the ones that I did see. ANd for the ones that did not show up I sure hope they are doing well.
Now let me tell you about Alexis, we are on week 3 of schooling. She is still loving it!! (YEA!!) And she is doing fabulous! She is ahead on hours. So this Friday (for all of her hard work) We are taking our first field trip!!! We are going to the Farmerstown chicken swap. I am going to have her take notes of all the animals she sees. And I will be taking pictures for her year book. :) I really hope we have a great time. And if she enjoys it enough we may go to the exotic sale the next week!
Well, I am in need of getting school started. I will update when the quail eggs hatch. :D They are due tomorrow. (Wednesday) I am sure they will wait until I take Lex to ballet before they make their debut! ;)
Blessings,
Chareia :)

Home Sweet Home!
Well, today is the 4th day of school. Things have been going great. Alexis has been doing fantastic!!! I am so proud if her. There are times that she gets upset but, then I remind her to just calm down and not get all worked up. (She seems to always do it in math! Just like me ;) ) I wish we could get more support from the family members. There have been quiet a few reactions......less than pleasant! I do not need anyone tearing us down. In fact I need the total opposite. I need them to build us up, and give us praise. This is not an easy task and it only makes it harder when you have people in your own family telling you what an awful mistake you are making. :( I wish that they would just see! I have been told it is not about the education that Alexis would get in public school, that it is more about the socialisation! SERIOUSLY???? I am being tore down and kicked around (not beacuse she isn't gettinga fabuluos education) but because she will not get the socialisation!!!! >:( Does any one else see where this is wrong? Anyways, I am doing the best I can at teaching Alexis, and so far she has been doing GREAT!!!
I had some sizzles chicks hatch out on Wednesday. I was really excited over the Cuckoo Marans. So far I have not had any marans hatch out. :( Those were the ones that I really wanted. I want some dark egg layers DARN IT! I had one start to hatch out and then it died. And this morning I have another pip. Not doing so hot on this batch. I maybe able to sell the sizzles that just hatched to a wonderful new friend I made in Cleveland. She got some birds from me at the swap! (And BTW I all but 2 of my birds that weekend!!) I made some money and I am so proud (see my birds can bring in some money ;) ) Now if Lucas would just see the potentional. ;)
And now for the biggest news.............................
The guy that we made an offer to about a house in Glenmont HAS ACCEPTED OUR OFFER!!
I am so excited, nervous, ancy, thrilled, and overwhelmed!! I can not believe we will actiually have our own house. I am NOT looking forward to the move but I am looking forward to having our own place. Ahh, home sweet home!!! I will update when I have more news.
Blessings,
Chareia :)

Wishful thinking
This weekend is the Danville chicken swap!! I am really hoping, wishing, and praying that I sell LOTS of birds! I am not too sure what I am gonna do if I have to bring back home all of these darn roosters!! I want to bring in some money frpm my hobby (ok a hobby who am I kidding?.....obsession sounds more like it LOL) Anyways it would be nice to have something to show the hubby at the end of the day. I tell him all the time there is money to be made, I just need the right birds. Well, I have some birds. It would be great if they would lay some darn eggs so I can sell them. I have Blue laced red wyandottes, cuckoo marans, appenzellar spitzenhaubens, cream brabanters, golden laced wyandottes, sizzles, buff orpingtons, mille flue d'uccles and just recently got partridge penedesencas! I have other chickens but those are the ones that I am breeding. I have one other breed I would like to add and that is the Salmon Faverolle. Then the money can just start flowing in .... right? Hey it sounded good! ;) I do enjoy having them, they are so much fun to set and watch. They all have such personalities. If you are interested at all in any of these breeds let me know, I will try to help out as much as I can.
Now on to the good stuff!!!!!
This year me and the hubby decided to home school out oldest (Alexis) she is in first grade this year and will be attending the OHVA!! So far she LOVES it!!!! The other day I had her do a math lesson (our first day of school is the 25th of Aug) and I said how do you like your school work? She gave me the weirdest look and said what school work? I then told her you are doing school work!! She could not believe she was doing math work. She enjoys it so much, I am so blessed to be able to teach her from home and to add God into it all. She definitely would not be getting that at public school!!!!
And since making the leap of faith I want to be more self sufficient. I have been making my own laundry soap and fabric softener. I have been picking berries from the woods and freezing them. I love it. We had such a great summer, even if we didn't do an exotic vacation!
Well, I need to give Alexis her next lesson! I will give an update soon!!
Blessings,
Chareia :)
